How it unfolds
- 01
Round 1 — Inoculation & Diagnostics
Test your medicinal foundation through fast-paced, case-based questions spanning anatomy, physiology, pathology, and global health. Compete head-to-head against rival teams where speed, precision, and clinical reasoning determine who advances.

Round 2 — Lex Medica
The courtroom is now in session. In this high-stakes debate, participants are tasked with navigating the intersection of clinical practice and health law. Each team will act as counsel for either the physician or the patient in a series of precedent-setting medical malpractice and ethical negligence cases. From challenging the standard of care to defending informed consent, you must interpret statutes, cite guidelines, and persuade our panel of judges. In this arena, the difference between 'guilty' and 'not liable' lies in your ability to argue.

Round 3 — Resuscitation & Critical Care
Work as a coordinated emergency response team to manage high-pressure trauma cases with evolving complications. Assigning medical roles, make rapid clinical decisions, and adapt to unexpected twists while keeping your patients alive.

Round 4 — Healthcare Therapeutics & Ventures
Develop an innovative healthcare solution to combat a rapidly spreading outbreak through both medical and entrepreneurial strategy. Present a viable product, funding mode, and public adoption plan that balances scientific impact with real-world feasibility.
Rules & Regulations
Event rules for Metamorphosis
- 01
Teams must base all proposals on sound scientific reasoning and clearly justify every claim made during the presentation.
- 02
Teams must work only with the information provided; external resources or internet access are not permitted unless specified.
- 03
Each team must complete and present their proposal within the allotted preparation and presentation time.
- 04
Judges' decisions regarding scientific validity, feasibility, and overall scoring shall be final and binding.
- 05
Any assumptions made beyond the provided scenario must be explicitly stated and scientifically justified.

All team members are expected to contribute during the presentation and adhere to the assigned time limits.
- 07
Proposals must be original, ethical, and medically appropriate; unsafe, discriminatory, or scientifically unsound recommendations may result in penalties or disqualification.

In Round 4, teams must base all proposals on sound scientific reasoning and clearly justify every claim made during the presentation.
- 09
In Round 2, each speaker will have 1.5 minutes to present their arguments. The debate begins with the first speaker of the team going for the motion presented. After each speaker concludes, a 30 second break will be given to teams to restructure their arguments and prepare rebuttals. After 60 seconds, the judge will knock the table once as an indication. At the end of 1.5 minutes, the speaker is expected to complete their sentence and return to their seat.
Universal Rules
Apply to every event.
These rules are binding across all ten events at Plutus 2026. No exceptions.

No AI tools permitted. Use of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any generative AI tool — for research, content generation, calculations, or decision-making — at any stage of any round is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification of the team.
- 02
Judges' and organizers' decisions are final and binding on all matters, including scoring, disqualification, and rule interpretation.
- 03
Reporting time is mandatory. Teams arriving late to their round may lose time from their allotted slot or forfeit their turn, at the organizers' discretion.
- 04
Original work only — any pitch, script, design, or presentation must be created live/on-site during the event unless a round explicitly allows pre-prepared material.
- 05
Respectful conduct is required toward judges, volunteers, and other teams; unsporting behavior, verbal abuse, or sabotage of another team's materials leads to disqualification.
- 06
Substitutions are not allowed once a team is registered, except in case of a genuine emergency and with prior organizer approval.
